$115.00

The Morningside Basic Number Skills: Math Facts program teaches students to memorize the number families involved in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division math facts. Addition and subtraction are taught together; multiplication and division are taught together. Remembering the number families allows the learner to create four facts from a three member number family. For example, by memorizing the 4, 3, 12 family and the Big Number rule, students combine these numerals to get 4 x 3 = 12, 3 x 4 = 12, 12 ÷ 3 = 4, 12 ÷ 4 = 3. Only ¼ of the memorizing that it takes to learn 4 separate, isolated math facts! The Addition/Subtraction program is broken down into 16 levels or slices. The Multiplication/Division program contains another 16 slices. Students typically practice math families and facts with several one-minute timings per day until they reach their personalized daily goal. The strong foundation in knowing math facts automatically frees the students to perform more complex operations effortlessly.  Students engage in timed practice and graph daily performance on special charts, counting both number correct and number of errors, until they reach specified frequency aims.
